Can I get "No Parking" signs on my street?
Question:

Can I get "No Parking" signs on my street?
Answer:

All requests for the placement or removal of No Parking signs must be in the form of a petition. The petition must include the following:
  • A clear description of the requested parking restriction and location(s).
  • Printed names, addresses and signatures from all property owners that would be affected by the change in restrictions accompanied a statement of whether the owner agrees with or opposes the action. Except on curves, only full block requests will be processed. Only one signature per property will be counted.
  • Agreement by a two-thirds majority of the owners is required for processing.
  • See attached example.
The completed petition must by addressed and sent to: City Engineer City of Casselberry 95 Triplet Lake Drive Casselberry, FL 32707 Owner's names and addresses will be verified using county tax records. When the petition is reviewed and verified for accurate signatures and matching addresses, the City Engineer will then determine if the requested actions are justified, and on which side of the street the restriction should be placed, based on the criteria below. No Parking signs will only be placed if one or more of the following conditions are met:
  • The Peak Hour or Average Daily Traffic counts for the paved width of road meet the requirements of the attached matrix. On one-sided restrictions, the No Parking sign would be placed on the side with the most (1) intersecting streets, or (2) driveways.
  • At intersections, No Parking signs may be placed to restrict parking within 30 feet of the extension of the edges of pavement.
  • On curves, No Parking signs may be placed on both sides if the pavement width is less than 26 feet.
  • Parking may be restricted on the inside of the curve if the pavement width is between 26 and 36 feet and the inside radius of the curve is less than 1300 feet.
  • No Parking signs may be placed if one or more of the conditions stated in the City Code Section 82, Article IV exist and records indicate frequent violations.
EXAMPLE PETITION We the undersigned property owners on Thornberry Drive petition the City of Casselberry Public Works Department to prohibit parking on Thornberry Drive between Colombo Drive and Tallwood Drive by installing signs.
