How can I expedite the review of my permit?

Submit all building permits prior to initiation of work. Building permits are reviewed as quickly as possible. Larger, more complicated projects generally take longer than smaller ones. However, the following measures will generally shorten permit reviews:

• Provide a completed application, including notarized signatures of the owner and qualifier.
• Submit three sets of plans for residential and 5 sets for commercial, drawn to scale and signed and sealed by a professional when required by Code.
• For new construction, submit site plans/surveys showing location and setbacks.
• Provide calculations as required by Code (energy, heating/cooling load and/or structural load).
• Provide three sets of Product Approvals as required by Code (roofs, utility sheds, windows, exterior doors, awnings, shutters, skylights, trusses, etc.).
